Located in Calgary Alberta Canada, Michael graduated from the University of Alberta in 1986 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and finance major. He began his credit career at the Royal Bank of Canada as lending and branch administration officer. In 1993 he transitioned to Equifax, a consumer and commercial credit reporting bureau where he managed a portfolio of energy accounts. Michael moved to EPCOR Utilities in 2001 as Senior Credit Analyst where he provided credit support for both the regulated & non-regulated gas & power trading portfolios. Michael transitioned to the oil and gas sector in 2007 and is with CNOOC International, a subsidiary of CNOOC Limited, one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies with operations in Asia, Africa, North and South America, Oceania and Europe. Michael manages commodity and non-commodity credit risk and marketing contracts for CNOOC and is a long-standing member of the IECA. He spends downtime with his wife Darlene and two daughters Mackenzie and Alexandra.
