Welcome Keynote Speakers: Darlene Halwas, Richard Yamarone and Andrew Kelvin!
Darlene Halwas spent 26 years in treasury, trading, and risk management. She currently serves on the boards of Aquatera Utilities Inc., CKUA Radio Foundation, Watt Consulting Group, and the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services, where she also chairs the Audit Committee. She will talk about her experiences in moving from risk management to board work
Richard Yamarone is an economist who has more than three decades of experience on Wall Street and focuses on monetary & fiscal policy, economic indicators, fixed income, commodities, and general macroeconomic conditions. He writes for Bloomberg Intelligence – Economics providing commentary and analysis for Bloomberg Real Time Economics and Bloomberg Brief: Economics, a daily newsletter that features analysis, data and news on the forces shaping the global economy. Mr. Yamarone and the Bloomberg Economics team provide in-depth analysis of macroeconomic data, policy and trends and how they will impact financial markets.
Andrew Kelvin is a Senior Rates Strategist with the Rates and Foreign Exchange Strategy team with a specific focus on Canadian markets. In his role Andrew contributes to the group's economic commentary and provides advice on developments in government debt markets.
Prior to joining TD Securities, Andrew spent four years working at the Bank of Canada in the International and Financial Markets Departments. In his role with the International Department he worked as an Economist responsible for analysis and forecasts on the US economy. Later he transitioned to a position as a Senior Analyst in the Financial Markets Department where he provided coverage on market developments as part of the Market Analysis and Operations group.
Andrew holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Queen's University and a M.Sc. in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics. Andrew is a CFA charterholder.
