Description: As part of the IECA's Credit Risk Management Certification Program (CRMCP), this two-day seminar is designed for Beginner/Intermediate level energy professionals in the credit, risk management, and contracts/legal fields. Seasoned professionals will also appreciate the refresher course due to ever-changing regulations. The seminar will compare and contrast the standard terms of different master agreements, provide insight into why counterparties may draft agreements differently, and how to bridge those differences between provisions to reach mutually acceptable positions.
This training seminar addresses the fundamental concepts behind the aspects of the Master Agreements. Upon completion of the course, attendees will depart with an understanding of:
- Agreements to be reviewed include NAESB, EEI and ISDA and the ISDA Gas and Power Annexes
- The importance of real-world provision applications for different commercial sectors
- U.S. bankruptcy safe harbor rights related to energy commodities
- Regulatory changes and their impact on Master Agreements documentation for end-users including the recent QFC's and SA-CCR regulatory changes
Credits: Meets one of the two CRMCP elective courses. This course qualifies for CPE and CLE continuing education credits.

Required Material: IECA will provide the ISDA Master Contract to the first fifteen attendees for free. If you are not one of the first fifteen, you will need to purchase a copy to bring with you. You can purchase the 2022 ISDA Master Agreement here. All other provided material will be available in digital format. No printed books will be provided.
