Ricardo Alicea is a Vice President, in-house counsel, in the Legal Department of Brookfield Renewable Partners. In his role Ric oversees the legal aspects of the Company's US Platform’s trading and marketing activities and also supports the M&A, development and operational activities associated with the Company's  hydroelectric, wind and solar generation assets. Prior to joining Brookfield Renewable Ric was in-house counsel at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital, where he supported the commodities divisions on a variety of trading, regulatory and transactional matters.  Ric is a graduate of Boston University (SMG ’02, LAW ’05 and GSM ’05) and currently resides in Westchester county with his wife, two children, dog and cat.

Why the IECA?

Being a member of the IECA has allowed me to access a wealth of knowledge regarding different aspects of risk management and I have been able to apply this newly-acquired knowledge to my work. Interacting with other members during the different calls and initiatives is what I enjoy the most. The exchange of ideas and knowledge can be quite refreshing. My favorite memory is likely to be my first attendance at an IECA Conference because I felt welcome and appreciated despite being a "newbie" and not knowing anybody. I would recommend joining the IECA to expand your knowledge with regards to risk management and your network.
