Marlene Motyka is the US and Global Renewable Energy Leader for Deloitte and a principal in Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP. In her role as Deloitte’s US Renewable Energy Leader she steers Deloitte’s overall delivery of a broad range of cross-spectrum professional services – from tax related issues, M&A and financing activities, business strategy, valuation, accounting to technology integration and operational consulting as well as human capital offerings – to renewable energy companies, and those who invest in or utilize renewable energy.

Marlene has worked in the energy and resources sector for over 25 years. She consults with clients across many industry sectors who are investing in the renewable energy and clean tech sectors by providing insight into the drivers and challenges, market dynamics, and financial aspects of the sector.  She also works with clients in the area of valuation and financial consulting including the valuation and modelling of electric generating projects, renewable energy projects, gas, electric and district heat transmission and distribution networks, and associated tangible and intangible assets.  

Marlene is also a joint-leader of the Deloitte Resources 2020 Study. This tenth nationwide study uncovers the actions that businesses, and consumers, are taking to manage their energy usage and to understand what motivates them to adopt new practices and technologies including renewable energy. The study also explores corporate commitment to energy management in terms of goals and capital investment. Marlene is also a frequent speaker on topics related to renewable energy, power & utilities sector, energy management, and valuation.

She has an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University.
