James' practice includes advising clients in court work-outs, receiverships, bankruptcies, security reviews and civil enforcement proceedings. James frequently represents secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, purchasers and court officers in domestic and cross-border cases.

James is Vice President and Treasurer of the Insolvency Section of the Canada Bar Association (Alberta South Chapter) and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, Risk Management Association and Law Society of Alberta.
