Navigating Nuances in International Credit and Business

Join the IECA's Professionals for Diversity and Inclusion Group (PDIG) for an informative panel discussion on nuances in international credit and business, followed by a networking event at Part & Parcel in Houston's The Whitehall Hotel!

Panel Discussion Description:
In the ever-expanding global economy, businesses are exposed to different cultures and business practices.  Often, business deals are lost because the parties involved did not take the time to learn about each other’s cultures prior to engaging. Aspects of the discussion will include language, customs and even gestures – for example, a simple ‘yes’ can have different meanings or intent.  The panel will highlight aspects to consider and strategies that can make a difference between business success and failure.

Why the IECA?

Being a member of the IECA has allowed me to access a wealth of knowledge regarding different aspects of risk management and I have been able to apply this newly-acquired knowledge to my work. Interacting with other members during the different calls and initiatives is what I enjoy the most. The exchange of ideas and knowledge can be quite refreshing. My favorite memory is likely to be my first attendance at an IECA Conference because I felt welcome and appreciated despite being a "newbie" and not knowing anybody. I would recommend joining the IECA to expand your knowledge with regards to risk management and your network.
