In October of 2023, The Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) issued its opinion on the constitutionality of the Impact Assessment Act (IAA) and its Physical Activities Regulations. In a 5 to 2 decision, the majority of the SCC held that that the IAA is unconstitutional in part.

In this seminar, Bruce Mellett and Sean Assie of Bennett Jones will discuss the background of the case, key findings from the SCC opinion, and, most importantly, discuss that the ruling means for the Canadian energy industry.
