Please join IECA and Arthur J. Gallagher in this spirited discussion on how forward-thinking insurers are differentiating themselves by offering payment default protection on credit defaults which stem from financial exposure to a counterparty, as opposed to pure accounts receivable created in the normal course of the purchase and sale of goods or services. With many more trade credit and political risk underwriters now operating in North America than ever before, there’s more competition than ever among them to generate new business premiums.  Insurers must increasingly be open to the concept of insuring certain types of transactions which might be considered “non-trade”.   This topic is very timely to banks, traders and commodity finance firms as they face the hurtles of a tough regulatory and low-interest rate environment.  Financial players are themselves compelled to find new ways of de-risking their portfolio.
