CRMCP eLearning: Credit Reasoning, Writing and Presenting Credit Assessments

The IECA's virtual training program allows you to remotely complete the Credit Reasoning, Writing and Presenting Credit Assessments course through a virtual classroom experience. The program includes real-time instructions and group work with your peers. 

The course will begin on June 15 11:30 a.m. ET until 3:00 p.m. ET. The course will be THREE and a HALF hours each of the scheduled days.  This virtual course is highly interactive and requires your full attention. There will be breaks during each session.

This seminar teaches participants how to prepare credit approval documents that summarize succinctly the overall risk exposure an institution is asked to take on.  Participants will gain practical experience and learn usable techniques for effective writing in a business environment. The course will also discuss how one can best present one’s message to transaction adjudicators by understanding their perspective, framing arguments in a convincing way, and adopting a delivery style that connects with the audience.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this seminar, delegates will be able to:

► Write clear, concise, consistent and complete credit approval documents
► Select relevant data and present information in accord with the reader’s focus
► Describe the key risks in a transaction and how these will be mitigated by the credit structure
► Understand the psychology of decision making in credit committees

Program Level: Basic / Intermediate

Prerequisites: Fundamentals of Corporate Credit or two years in a credit role.

Advance Preparation: A package of information on a case study will be sent out shortly before the seminar date.   Participants should read this and be prepared to discuss the materials on the first day of the seminar

Delivery Method: Virtual, instructor-lead.

This virtual program is part of the Credit Risk Management Certificate Program (CRMCP), a partnership between the IECA and Moody's Analytics, and is designed for the basic to intermediate skill level. Completion of this course meets one of the requirements for the CRMCP.

Important Note:  This highly interactive course will be delivered in four 3.5-hour sessions, with breaks. This course will be run over four days, 3.5 hours each day from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET.
