Description

In this session we will look into and discuss how offtake structures, tax equity and debt are interdependent. The presentation will cover each element of the capital stack in project finance as well as the sources of revenue, then elaborate on the tradeoffs that are required to balance the risk and expected returns of a renewable project. Understanding how decisions on offtake will impact financing options and ultimately project returns is an important element for creating the highest economic value of a project.

Learning Objective: Understand how to balance the risk and expected returns to match your objectives, including reviewing the elements of project finance through tax equity, construction debt, and back leverage, and how they are impacted by the offtake structures and counterparty credit impact options in financing.
