The Contracts and Legal Education Group (CLEG), a group within the International Energy Credit Association (IECA), is a dynamic organization with over 450 members consisting of attorneys, paralegals, contract and credit professionals working within the energy sector, and is the industry leader for networking and sharing ideas.

Through a vast array of programs and working groups, CLEG provides the opportunity for members to network, discuss vital credit and legal issues, debate important points and discuss best practices for the energy sector.

CLEG also serves as a resource to contract and legal personnel, with free access to industry standard documents and forms, as well as helpful links and articles.

Industry Tools

Working Groups
To explore specific industry issues in depth, CLEG has several working groups following and digesting key developments, as well as providing regular updates to members. Current working groups include Dodd-Frank, Bankrutpcy and Creditor's Rights, Master Netting Agreement, Contract Provision Review, Canadian Derivatives Regulatory, and the Letter of Credit working group.

European Legal Group (ELG)
The IECA ELG was established in 2010 and meets on a quarterly basis. The ELG meetings are an innovative forum for general knowledge sharing and facilitate a high-level discussion of relevant legal issues facing the market for the benefit of the energy industry as a whole. Participation is open to all individual members of the IECA and the ELG represents a valuable benefit of IECA membership.
