This credit group promotes the education and understanding of credit management in relation to commercial credit transactions. The credit group meets semi-annually: every fall during the IECA Annual Conference and again during the Spring Educational Conference held in the United States. Allied Members may participate in CCG activities.
The CCG participates in the development of the Best Practices Survey providing member participants a tool to measure the effectiveness of their respective credit areas when compared to industry norms. The survey is issued annually to participating group members, who are encouraged to submit their completed surveys to the IECA. The consolidated survey results are then reported to members during the conference meetings.
Crude Oil and Refined Products Credit Group (CORPS)
The IECA Crude Oil and Refined Products Credit Group was organized in 1981 and represents over 100 companies throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. The CORPS Committee publishes reports semi-annually to assist members in obtaining references on specific companies. The CORPS Credit Group meets semi-annually: every fall during the IECA Annual Conference and again during the Spring Educational Conference held in the United States. These meetings also serve as a way to meet and network with your peers in the industry. Allied Members may participate in CORPS Credit Group activities.
Gas, Liquids & Electricity Credit Group (GLE)
The IECA Gas, Liquids & Electricity Credit Group was organized in 1986, under the original name of the Exploration and Production Credit Group. In 1992, the focus of the group, and hence the name, was changed to "Natural Gas & Gas Liquids Credit Group" to represent companies in the natural gas and gas liquids industry. With the changing nature of the oil and gas business and the deregulation of electricity, the name was again changed in 1997. The group currently represents over 150 companies throughout the United States and Canada.
The GLE Credit Group meets semi-annually: every fall during the IECA Annual Conference and again during the Spring Educational Conference held in the United States.
Contracts and Legal
This education group shall promote education and the understanding of credit risk managment in relation to energy related documentation and contracts. This Group will also be responsible for any education and/or conference management functions related to activities in the legal arena.
Canadian Credit Group
The Canadian Credit Group promotes the education and understanding of credit management in relation to energy transactions in Canada. In addition, they monitor Canadian Legislation and regulatory proposals. The Canadian Credit Group conducts annual conferences held in Calgary, Alberta in late Spring/early Summer and also hosts a membership dinner in November.
European Division
The European Division promotes the education and understanding of credit management in relation to energy transactions in Europe. The European Division conducts annual conferences held in Europe in late Spring/early Summer.
Asian Division
The Asian Division was introduced in 2004 to further expand IECA membership and will be providing some educational opportunities for members in that geographical area.
