Description

The U.S. Department of Energy recently selected seven winning proposals for the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs that will receive up to $7 billion in funding under the Inflation Reduction Act.  The Department of Energy states that these hubs will “kickstart a national network of clean hydrogen producers, consumers, and connective infrastructure while supporting the production, storage, delivery, and end-use of clean hydrogen...[and] accelerate the commercial-scale deployment of clean hydrogen helping to generate clean, dispatchable power, create a new form of energy storage, and decarbonize heavy industry and transportation.”  This presentation will focus on the different proposals, their respective development timelines, and their potential impact on the U.S. energy system, as well as the types of day-to-day transactions one would expect to see once these hubs become operational.
