COMMITTEES
Committees provide essential services to the members and are formed each year following the annual conference. Your active participation is encouraged to assure IECA's continued success. The following is a brief description of the standing committees: Advisory, Nomination and Elections
Staffed with current and past officers to help maintain stable leadership in the future. Please note any member following procedures outlined in our by-laws can make nominations outside the Committee’s recommendations.

Allied
Represents the interest of this contingency of our membership. Addresses issues such as: conference programming, speaker/topic resource database development and trade show & sponsorship information packet distribution. An Allied Member is any employee of a service company or organization providing credit support, finance or legal services to the energy industry.

By-Laws
Reviewed and updated regularly to keep pace with changes in the energy industry and the requirements of our members. The By-Laws committee receives all proposals for amendments and presents the amendments for a vote of the members.

Conference Management
Helps develop educational programs and solicit speakers for our conferences and seminars. Participants come from the Canadian, Commercial, Crude Oil and Refined Products, European and Gas, Liquids & Electricity Committees. The committee coordinates all aspects relating to the operation of the Annual Conference

Communications
Publishes the IECA Journal three times a year keeping members posted of significant news, events and educational articles. The committee is also responsible for the publication of registration and agenda materials for conferences and seminars.

Education
Keeps in touch with each of the educational groups to help define educational needs and opportunities. The committee develops also resources and promotes programs that will contribute to the professional development of the membership.

Finance
Works on the annual budget, reviews fees for membership and conferences, and oversees the Auditor and the annual audit report.

Membership Recruitment, Renewal and Retention
The three committees that focus on keeping current and attracting new members. The Membership committees solicit memberships with the authority to accept or reject applications, manage prospective member communications and follow-up with telemarketing campaigns. The committees conduct membership satisfaction and interest surveys to keep members actively involved in the activities of the Association and findings are reported to the IECA Board of Directors. Also, membership cancellations and delinquent renewals are analyzed to improve recruitment efforts of new members.

Recognition & Credentials
Works to provide proper recognition, as directed by the Board of Directors, of Officers, Directors and Members, which includes recognition of new members, past presidents, new CCE's, outgoing chairpersons, and board members.

Scholarship
Contributes to the professional development of the Association membership by promoting and administering the S. J. “Bud” Haider Memorial Scholarship program for children of members, awarding several annual scholarships for education.
