96th IECA Annual Conference Update

Hello Valued IECA Members and Stakeholders:

Through the COVID-19 pandemic, our number one concern has been the safety and well-being of our members and stakeholders.

We are facing unprecedented times in the energy credit space with low commodity prices and travel restrictions.  A recent member survey confirmed that almost all respondents had some form of a travel ban and many were indefinite.  It is also clear that the majority of our members remain concerned about attending large gatherings even if the opportunity existed.  All said, holding a conference this fall presents an unpalatable risk to our members and the association.

It is for these reasons that the IECA has made the difficult decision to cancel the 96th IECA Annual Conference set for October 4-7, 2020 at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona.

While the in-person conference will not proceed, the IECA will continue to plan and deliver quality online education content.  There is lots on the go including the 2020 Best Practices Survey, various credit and legal working group calls, the mentoring program, on-line CRMCP courses, and other webinars including our first in Europe.  Our website provides a portal to these events, IECA contacts, and a vast database of industry-related content including past presentations, working group documents, and access to the product and services directory.

As we enter the 2nd half of 2020, we look forward to serving the needs of our members.  It has never been a better time to Be Informed and Stay ‘Virtually’ Connected.  On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you for your continued support of the IECA.  We also wish to convey a sincere thanks to all our sponsors for their unwavering support.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@ieca.net or contact me directly.

Best Regards,

 Michael Dutka
IECA President
